When our parent and loved ones start to age, they often have difficulties in getting around, and sometimes medical issues make that even more problematic families needing 24hr home care. As much as seniors will prefer to stay at home and age in place, long-term care such as around the clock care and the concern of family members can pressure seniors into seeking a nursing facility. Fortunately, there are options available for those who want to age in place in their own homes — 24 hour home care can help.

Many older adults struggle to perform all the daily tasks needed to live a quality and safe life, Even so, they want to live at home until they pass, or “age in place” as is it called. Often, home care services may be able to help with many activities of daily living, but if circumstances changes and they cannot safely be alone throughout the day and night, what are they to do then? These are the benefit of 24 hour home care.
The Benefit of 24hr home care (increased recovery)
When loved one suffered from a major illness or had a surgery, being able to rehabilitate at home will speeds recovery. Having to stay in the hospital or another setting for an extended period can be traumatizing to older people. By recovering in a familiar environment, older people can heal more quickly and reduce the risk of re-hospitalization. The number of doctor visits decreased since recovery is quicker and less traumatic.
24hr home care No Loss of Independence
The fears for older adults are losing their independence and moving into a nursing home or long-term care facility. That is because change can be difficult for seniors. They don’t want to live with people they don’t know. They are used to the familiarity and comfort of their own home – a place they may have lived in for decades. Seniors typically do not thrive on restrictions. They want to have as much independence as possible, and aging in place at home allows that. They can continue to live their own lives without having to abide by the rules of a nursing home facility.
Better 24hr home Care
Nursing homes and care facilities provide the similar care to older people. The care that an in-home caregiver provides, on the other hand, is tailored to the patient’s needs. The caregiver-focused on only one patient during that time. There are fewer distractions and less stress, making the care experience much better.
24hr home care is Safer Care
Believe it or not, older people living at home is safer and healthy than being in a hospital or care facility. That is because more than 20% of hospital patients develop an infection, whereas the risk of developing an infection at home is virtually non-existent. The home environment is safe to haven; where your loved one will receive 24 hour home care attention than having to wait that often exists in nursing homes and other care facilities.
